Can robots become commonplace in retail stores? The team at Simbe Robotics from California believes the answer is yes. They developed Tally, a robot that uses technologies such as RFID tags and cameras together with computer vision and machine learning algorithms to provide vital information to store owners. For example, Tally can keep accurate inventory counts, provide images of displays in the store and analyze issues with product placement and inventory levels. Tally’s goal is to enable better management of stores and inventory.
